Brief about Saifuddin

Captain Mohammad Saifuddin Mehedi is a highly accomplished maritime professional with nearly two decades of experience. After completing his Higher Secondary Certificate from Govt City College, Chattogram, in 2002, he joined Bangladesh Marine Academy and graduated in 2004, earning a Bachelor of Maritime Science (BMS) in Nautical Science from National University in 2005. Throughout his career, he steadily advanced his qualifications, obtaining his Class 3 Certificate of Competency (COC) in 2008, Class 2 COC in 2010, and Class 1 COC in 2017, all awarded by the Department of Shipping, Bangladesh. He further enhanced his expertise with certifications such as ISM Designated Person & Internal Auditor, ISPS Company Security Officer (CSO), and MLC Inspector from Bureau Veritas (BV). In addition, he holds a Ship Surveyor License issued by the Department of Shipping, Bangladesh, highlighting his versatility and high level of skill in the maritime industry.

Captain Mehedi began his maritime career in 2005 as an Apprentice Officer aboard a Cape size bulk carrier managed by Eurasia Pte Ltd. His extensive experience includes serving on oil and chemical tankers as Unix Line Pte Ltd, Vships Asia Group Pte Ltd, and Raffles Ship Management Pte Ltd, where he handled a wide range of oil and chemical cargoes. In 2018, Captain Mehedi assumed command of vessels, demonstrating exceptional leadership and operational skills. His calm demeanor, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills have made him a trusted leader in high-pressure environments. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for managing ships on international trade routes, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of cargo while upholding the highest standards of crew safety and operational efficiency. His leadership experience extends beyond maritime operations, having served as a Sailing Superintendent for Vships Asia Group in 2017, where he played a key role in SIRE inspections and overseeing ship safety. Additionally, he has demonstrated his expertise as a skilled surveyor, conducting bunker surveys, hull and machinery inspections, and handling P&I claims.
