Brief about Al Kabir

Chief Engineer Md Al Kabir, born in Chattogram in 1984, completed his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) at Govt. City College, Chattogram, in 2001. He graduated from Bangladesh Marine Academy in 2004 and earned a Bachelor of Maritime Studies (BMS) in Marine Engineering in 2005 under the National University of Bangladesh. He later studied at the International Institute of Maritime Technology (IIMT), where he obtained his Class 3 Certificate of Competency (COC) in 2007, accredited by the Department of Shipping, Bangladesh. He advanced his qualifications by acquiring a Class 2 COC in 2010 and a Class 1 COC in 2015, both from the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore. Additionally, he has completed various maritime courses, including the ISPS Company Security Officer (CSO) and Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) Inspector courses through Bureau Veritas (BV). In addition, he holds a Ship Surveyor License issued by the Department of Shipping, Bangladesh, highlighting his versatility and high level of skill in the maritime industry. Chief Engineer Md Al Kabir embarked on his maritime career in 2005 as an Apprentice Engineer Officer aboard a Cape-size bulk carrier managed by Brave Royal Shipping Pte Ltd.

In 2007, he joined Emirates Trading Agency Company in the UAE as a Fourth Engineer, and in 2009, he served as a Third Engineer Officer on a Unix Line vessel chartered by MOL Chemical Tankers, a leading chemical tanker company. He was subsequently promoted to Chief Engineer with Etihad Shipping Pte Ltd, UAE. Throughout his career, he has sailed on oil and chemical tankers for companies such as Unix Line, V. Ships Asia Group, Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), and World Tanker Pte Ltd. He is currently serving as a Chief Engineer with Unix Line Pte Ltd, Singapore. Throughout his career, Chief Engineer Md Al Kabir has actively participated in various onboard inspections, such as SIRE, CDI, and vetting surveys, where he has consistently demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and leadership capabilities.
